I wrote a small skill that tears an offer apart with no manners.

I wrote a small skill that tears an offer apart with no manners. I pointed it at my own portfolio first, which was humbling in the way a good sound engineer is humbling. It poked holes in each offer like the worst cheapskate on earth. It didn't tell me how to patch them. It asked me questions until I made the call myself (at least, I believe I did).

What the skill reads

An offer in my system is a short list of fields: who it's for, the niche, the problem it solves, the transformation, the price. The skill reads each field as a buyer looking for a reason to say no. A blank price counts as undecided, never as free. When it finds a hole, it asks me questions about it, and I write the fix.

From skill to product

Then I did the obvious thing and turned it into a product. Empty repo on Monday, deployed with a paywall by Saturday. Sixteen slices, most of them written by agents while I reviewed and merged.

Offer Roast works like this. You sign up with an email address and answer questions that build your offer as an 8-bit fighter. Then the offer goes into the ring against a model that's told to find the holes, and it makes you close them one question at a time. You can leave halfway and pick it up again from the link in your inbox. The first round is free. More rounds come from a paid pack.

The part I couldn't automate

The speed came from the agents. What made the tool worth building was the part I couldn't automate: sitting there while a machine listed every reason my own pricing was soft, and deciding which reasons were right. The product keeps that step with the person whose offer it is. The model names the holes, and you answer for each one.

Before you set your next price, write down every reason a stingy buyer would give for not paying it, and decide which of them are right.
