Can AI delete a production database?
It can, if a human approves a destructive step. In Peter's case the model offered a force push with an explicit data-loss warning and he approved it while sleep deprived.
Peter deleted a production database with real users in it. Observability caught it before any user did and a point-in-time backup restore held.
His conclusion was that AI amplifies clarity into leverage and fatigue into risk, so the practical fix is to slow down, define clearly and review carefully on days you are not fully present.
